Primo's design function sits at the very core of our engineering service and is delivered by our in house team of technical experts. Equipped with latest 3D design software we pride ourselves on accelerated development of designs and have a proven track record of providing novel solutions to challenging assembly layouts.

Our engineers use their wealth of past experience to build in design for manufacture principles from the outset of our design work and understand material processing options to enhance part performance. Having awareness of specific requirements for a range of manufacturing techniques helps ensure the correct processes are selected to meet the product requirements and parts stage modelled accordingly to reflect the manufacture routing.
To keep pace with the design development we use a combination of proprietary software and in house developed tools to support our simulation capabilities. These tools help verify the integrity of our designs from the component up to a complete assembly level. By building a digital representation of the design its performance can be measured to ensure it conforms to the requirements.
We also use these tools to optimise the performance of our designs by employing them in an iterative manner whether it be reducing component mass, increasing system efficiency or improving NVH performance. We have the following capabilities for simulation;
Physical testing of assemblies complements our simulation capability and accelerates our understanding of a products performance in its representative environment. Through the design phases of a project the test requirements for relevant sub-assemblies and full system are identified and test plans constructed to support the products complete validation.
We have experience in developing benchtop test rigs for pumps and small transmission systems. For larger assemblies we access test houses with the required equipment and technicians providing the engineering support to specify the test interfaces, post processing test data and inspecting components after testing.
To expand our in house engineering services Primo has established a comprehensive network of select UK and European based manufactures and technology experts whom share our goals of providing cutting edge solutions of a high quality.
These partnerships allow us to offer a manufacturing solution at niche volumes for a flexible and tailored approach and can include assembly and product testing.
